Akron is located in Northeast Ohio, approximately 30 miles south of
Clevelend. The city was laid out in 1825 by Irish laborers and others
working on the Ohio Canal project. Akron flourished as a major
manufacturing center and throughout the years it has experienced many
changes. Today's Akron offers the excitement of a major metropolitan
area and boasts a vibrant present and historic past. Events include:
Akron Rib & Music Festival, numerous professional sport home games,
Oktoberfest, Jazz Festival, and the Loyal Oak Cider Festival. |

The Akron Art Museum is located in the Old Akron Post Office. The museum includes artwork dating back to the mid 1800's. Exhibits include photography, sculpture, folk art, paintings, and other borrowed works or showcasing pieces from artists and museums. The museum also offers storytelling, hands-on art programs, guest lectures, poetry readings, annual film series, and an event like Downtown at Dusk, an outdoor concert featured in the summer. |

Started in 1968 with it's first concert, the Blossom Music Center is located among 800 acres of woodland. The Blossom Music Center includes a palvilion with great sound acoustics. The pavilion holds over 5,000 covered seating and the grounds can hold another 13,500. The Blossom Music Center is the summer home for the Cleveland Orchestra. |

The Stan Hywet Hall And Gardens is a 65-room Tudor Revival architecture manor. It is the Former home of F.A. Seiberling, co-founder of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, and his family.
