The capital city of Idaho lies on the Boise River in the southwestern part of the state. Surrounded by mountain ranges and spectacular scenery, the community boasts a university, a symphony orchestra, a summer-long Shakespeare festive, and outstanding museums. A 25-miles greenbelt runs along the river shoreline and serves as a recreation site for walkers, joggers, cyclists and a home to ducks, geese, beaver, and otters. Historic buildings and a geothermally heated Capitol Building welcome residents and visitors. Annual events include the Boise River Festival, Art in the Park, and Festival of the Trees. |
